I specialize in working with individuals, couples and families with a trauma-informed lens influenced by Family System Theory, Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. This integrative approach helps clients to understand themselves, their past and family life, notice how they perceive the world and how they interact with those within their world. These insights enable them to better express thoughts and emotions and help their relationships by increasing mutual appreciation and understanding.

In working with couples I help partners process and heal from past and present stressors, and stabilize the foundation of the relationship on the tenants of improved communication and better conflict management.

Theories of Influence & Experience

Family Systems – An empathetic approach that allows a client to see how their family influence beginning in childhood can affect them as an individual and aid them in better understanding the reasons that could contribute to even the most complex of mental

health issues.

Narrative Therapy – A unique approach that helps a client separate themselves from their problems in a way that allows them to externalize the issue to be able to see it from a different perspective and move forward with a most positive outlook.

Gottman Method Couples Therapy – A scientific and observation-based researched theory that focuses on helping a couple rebuild their relationship from the ground up based on the Sound Relationship House Theory which focuses on important aspects of a relationship such as friendship, creating shared meaning, and managing conflict.

Substance Use and Abuse: Experience working with individuals, couples, and families surrounding addictions and the effects of addiction on interpersonal relationships.
